Charlie Campbell, 74, of Avawam, died May 30, Wednesday, at that Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital. Campbell was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Lou Campbell. Campbell was a veteran of World War II and a retired coal miner. He is survived by his wife, Easter Nell Campbell of Avawam, Ky.; two sons: Danny Campbell and wife Paula, of Avawam; Kelly Campbell and wife Darlene of Wooton, Ky. Also, three daughters: Susan Deaton and husband Eddie, of Busy, Ky.; Matilda Melton and husband Ken of Wooton, Ky., and Kathy Sebastian and husband Charlie of Avawam; one sister, Cora Couch of Bremen, Ky., and four grandchildren: Leigh Ann Sebastian, Kenny Melton, Scott Melton and Emaleigh Deaton. The funeral was June 1 from the Engle-Walker Perry County Chapel, 320 Morton Blvd., Hazard. Ministers officiating were Rev. Bill Combs and Rev. Pete Youmans. Burial was in Dan Campbell Cemetery in Avawam.

Emma Baker Osborne, age 94, of Berea, KY, formerly of Leslie County, widow of Clarence Osborne, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2001 in Berea, following a lengthy illness.
